    Organized by Guangdong Open University, this exclusive International Webinar Series on Empowering Ageing Societies: Education, Policy, and Technology creates a dedicated global platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and students across continents to exchange knowledge and engage in meaningful dialogue.


    Held virtually via Zoom over six weeks throughout June and July 2026, this six-session series features distinguished speakers from leading international institutions. We will explore the transformative intersection of education, policy, and technology in building compassionate, inclusive, and sustainable age-friendly societies.

    Professor of the Sociology of Ageing, Division of Psychiatry, Faculty of Brain Sciences, University College London, UK

    Prof. Paul Higgs is a world-renowned authority in gerontology with decades of pioneering expertise in sociological perspectives on ageing. His research focuses on social stratification among older adults, age discrimination, and the application of technology in care for older adults. He brings a unique perspective on how Western theoretical frameworks apply to the distinctive cultural and demographic context of ageing in China.
